Becki Newton

Becki Newton, born from New Haven in Connecticut, was born in Guilford the state of Connecticut. Becki Newton is of English and Czech descent. She began putting on shows and musicals at local theaters. She then studied at the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated with the degree of a B.A. in European History. at Penn, Newton was a part of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Newton was transferred to New York City after graduation and started working on TV commercials. This included Olive Garden. Newton was the character Amanda Tanen on the comedy-drama Ugly Betty series from 2006 to 2010. Newton along with co-star Michael Urie co-hosted The Official Ugly Betty Blog. Newton also starred in ABC.com ?Ts Mode After Hours series of webisodes. Ugly Betty, which had four successful seasons by then it was canceled in the year 2010. It was able to get a proper finale. Newton was the first to make her New York City Center encores debut in 2009. Jerry Zaks directed the Gershwin musical Girl Crazy. Newton was the character Molly Gray and performed opposite the real-life husband Chris Diamantopoulos. Newton starred in the television show Love Bites. Cindy Chupack was the executive producer for this romantic comedy. Cindy Chupack worked with Sex and the City. NBC announced the pick up of the show in the month of May 2010.However, with Newton announcing her pregnancy, co-star Jordana Spiro was contractually bound to continue her current project My Boys (which had been later canceled) and Chupack's desire to end the series, Love Bites was pushed back to mid-season.
